Intro

One of my favorite authors, Vance Havner, once said, “If I could only get preachers to realize that what they write, if it’s good, will last longer than they will… It’s a shame those who can write, won’t.” I’ve considered many times that I should write. The specifics of what, where, and how have differed over time but I’ve always felt an urging to write something down. Unfortunately, I’ve also had a stronger urge to procrastinate or to be just plain lazy. These two can assist you in coming up with all sorts of reasons to not do something. But I’ve learned that the more important point is simply to begin writing and see where the road takes us. Besides, I’ve grown tired of not knowing where this path leads, so off we go!

To begin, I must admit I know very little about writing in this venue (one of the aforementioned reasons for procrastination) so please allow me a bit of lattitude. I’m sure I’ll make mistakes in style, composition, and the like. And will probably embarrass my former grammar teachers should they read any of my work. But I tend to write in an informal style as though I were having a conversation with someone so I hope you can appreciate that fact as you read. As I said, I’m new to this “blogging” situation so please be patient while I learn to use the software and make appropriate changes.

That being said, I hope you enjoy reading what you find here, whether you agree with it or not. You should be able to find something that interests you. I plan on writing on all sorts of subjects, from politics to religion, from world events to my view on them, from issues on both a local and national level; basically, anything that comes to mind. Some may be short and some long. Some may be very interesting and insightful and others drab and/or just plain dull. I write what I think and while I know we all have opinions, I try to base mine on the facts as I know them and can thus support my arguments. Please feel free to post a comment or suggestion if you feel so inclined or you can contact me at kenneth@kennethmbriggs.com .

Thanks for Reading!
