Romans 10:3  “…they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God”
It was easy to use the law and sacrificial system to appear godly while still doing your own thing.  Before the captivity, the people followed other gods and their practices to do as they pleased.  Afterwards, they replaced false gods with cold religious practice.  All the correct parts are there, but no heart, substance, relationship.  My Bible teacher was right; Jesus came to save us from sin and religion.

10  “…with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”
Belief and action.  We believe in Christ as our savior, and we show the validity of that belief by speaking it.  We know the chair will hold us up so we sit on it.

14  “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?…”
This was a great comfort to me when the enemy questioned my belief.  Points to verse 10, but shows the action had to be a result of previous belief.

I hope you enjoy reading and studying His word.  May it accomplish what He desires.  Please feel free to comment or post questions.  Thanks for reading!
