Revelation 22:1  “…river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb”
Water of life coming from the throne of God.  Provided for all.  No more reason for anyone to not receive it.  Contrast with the Tree of Life in the original garden.  After they sinned they couldn’t eat of it anymore.  Now all is pure.  All can drink of the water.

2  “…the tree of life…”
Same goes for the Tree of Life.  And there’s more than one.  Down the middle of the street and on either side of the river.

2  “…leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations”
Not sure what he’s referring to here.  Why would anyone need healing, and what nations are referenced?  Commentary was vague.  Suggested it was preventive, not after the fact.  May be as one suggests, the tree is complete in providing life for all, both fruit and leaves.

3  “…there shall be no more curse…”
Nothing will be tainted with sin anymore.  The curse which God pronounced on the earth for man’s sake is no longer there.  All functions as originally intended.

4  “They shall see His face…”
Total purity.  Able to see the face of God without fear.  Relationship is complete.

5  “…shall be no night there…”
John is repeating aspects he’s seen.  Appears he does this throughout this last chapter as he closes out.  Important spots to remember.

6  “…And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place”
Reason for the book.

7  “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

8-11  Similar to what happened in chapter 19.  Command is different.  Wonder why John still had an issue of falling down and worshipping the angel.  Suppose he was overwhelmed by what was happening.

12-13  “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

12-17  Appears to be a summation of the whole situation.  Only those who receive Christ are able to enter the city and drink from the water of life.  All those who would rather live in their sin are outside.  Not a picture of what actually happens, but an overview of the idea.  And an admonition to hurry and be ready for the time is here.

16  “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches.  I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

18-19  Warning not to take away or add to the words of the book.  Many have done both.  Their mercy may be running out.

20  “He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”  Amen.  Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
My daily prayer.  I know many more need Him, but it’s getting so hard to wait.  I pray it’s not much longer.

I hope you enjoy reading and studying His word.  May it accomplish what He desires.  Please feel free to comment or post questions.  Thanks for reading!
