Exodus 37:1 ” Bezalel made the ark…”
One of the two specified created the ark itself. According to the dimensions God gave.
9 “The cherubim spread out their wings above, and covered the mercy seat with their wings…”
They were made one piece with the lid or mercy seat. I’m assuming this was done so it wouldn’t look pieced together. Having the cherubim placed in this way is reminiscent of the scene described by Isaiah when He saw God sitting on His throne. The Holy of Holies was to be an earthly copy of where God was. And that is where God would come down to meet with His people.
10-16 Making of the showbread table and it’s instruments.
17-24 Making of the golden lampstand according to God instructions. Would have been an exquisite piece of work, all of gold.
25-28 Creation of the altar of incense.
29 “He also made the holy anointing oil and the pure incense of sweet spices, according to the work of the perfumer.”
It says he made, meaning Bezalel, but it also says according to the work of the perfumer. That could run two ways. Could be that he was responsible for its creation while the perfumer did the actual work. Could also be that he did the work according to the way a perfumer would do it. Only mention in the commentaries was a reference to the latter. Not really a point of discussion. All the work portrayed in this chapter was completed according to the instructions God gave. At that, it seems unnecessary, but perhaps it was included to show that the people did respect God’s wishes at this point to do things precisely as He asked.
I hope you enjoy reading and studying His word. May it accomplish what He desires. Please feel free to comment or post questions. Thanks for reading!
