Romans 1:18  “…who hold the truth in unrighteousness”

Romans 1:19  “…that which may be known of God…God hath shewed it unto them.”

Romans 1:20  “…so that they are without excuse”

Romans 1:28  “…as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient”

Romans 1:32  “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
Progression of fallen man.  Beginning in verse 18ff.  God revealed Himself to man and continues to do so through the creation.  But they refused to acknowledge Him, being self-centered.  If they are now responsible for themselves, who is there to be thankful to?  Pilots of their own destinies.  Believing they were wise in themselves, they only show their foolishness.  Change out true and living God for idols which they can control.  God allowed their foolishness to continue and it grows to further debauchery.  Bottom of the self debasing ladder is leaving the natural for the unnatural.  Homosexuality.  Total focus on pleasing the fallen, fleshly desires regardless of the cost and without thought for anyone other than self.  There is also the idea of misery loves company.  Promotion of sin in others to cover their own.  All nations and civilizations of the world that have fallen have followed this downward spiral.  The US has lasted for 240 years because we looked to Christ.  But now we have forsaken Him, and we have arrived at the bottom rung.
