Proverbs 16:1  “…the answer of the tongue is from the LORD”
I believe this one is stated differently a few times.  Man makes his plans, but God is still in control.  Also reminds me of what Christ said regarding the Holy Spirit.  We need not worry about what to say in certain situations.  The Spirit would bring to mind what we should say when we should say it.  He always has the final say.

2  “…the LORD weighs the spirits”
He can see to the heart of the matter, the absolute truth.

3  “Commit your works to the LORD…”
Let all things be done for Him and His glory.  Work as unto the Lord.

4  “…even the wicked for the day of doom”
Nothing escapes Him.  Not sure if this is referring to doom for the wicked or that the wicked are used by Him as articles of punishment when He needs one, a rod of correction.  As He used the Assyrians and Babylonians.  Either way works.  It’s all for Him.

8  “Better is a little with righteousness, Than vast revenues without justice.”
Reminder that financial gain isn’t the most important.

9  “A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”
One of those mentioned like verse one.  I think it comes down to us deciding to move, planning our way then taking a step and being able to trust that God will direct those steps in the right direction.  Sometimes it’s hard to know what step to take.  Don’t have all the answers, but God is trustworthy.

18  “Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Paraphrased contraction has become a common saying.  Pride goes before a fall.  Shows the danger of not reading the source.

25  “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”
Stated several times in the Proverbs.  We can’t see everything.  What may appear right to us can be completely wrong.  Shown clearly in salvation.  We want to use works, but that leads only to death.  We must trust in Him.

33  “The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from the Lord.”
He is the ruler of chance.  Really no such thing as chance with God.  Odds are only seen from man’s point of view.  With God it is either so or not.  One chance in a billion is a sure thing if that is what He wants.

I hope you enjoy reading and studying His word.  May it accomplish what He desires.  Please feel free to comment or post questions.  Thanks for reading!
