Bible Study Notes on Exodus 25:23-40 – 20190303

WritingIIIExodus 25:29  “…dishes, its pans, its pitchers, and its bowls…make them of pure gold”
The showbread table was of acacia wood overlaid with gold, but the instruments for it were all of pure gold.  Everything was the finest, the absolute best for God.  If part of something needed a frame in order to be stronger, the best wood was used and overlaid with gold.

30  “…set the showbread on the table before Me always”
More info on the showbread later in the scripture.  But commentaries say the idea was that the bread was before the face of God always.  I’m thinking to always be aware of God’s presence, a continual state.  Like the creatures that hover around His throne all the time saying Holy, Holy, Holy.  Will need to do some cross referencing on that.

31  “You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold…”
Very intricate lampstand.  Six branches and the center shaft itself.  All of hammered gold.  And all its support pieces were of pure gold.

40  “…see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you…”
Another reminder to be careful to make everything exactly as they were shown.  God was specific in giving the instructions.  The people were to be specific in carrying them out.

I hope you enjoy reading and studying His word.  May it accomplish what He desires.  Please feel free to comment or post questions.  Thanks for reading!
